PHONE CONVERSATION W/ MY FATHER AND BROD

My 2 nieces during their school ceremony 2008....I can't imagine how big they are now!

I called my father at 9:00 A.M. U.S. CO time, I knew it's quite late there in PI and he was already sleeping. The first time I called, I heard a static sound so I hang up. I tried again and finally he answered his CP. When he heard my voice the first phrase he said in Visayan was.... "Pagkadugay man nimo wala na mutawag nako Dhay, nabalaka na kaayo ko" My replied in Visayan was...Permi baya ko ug tawag di man nako makontak imong CP, either out of coverage or unattended. He told me that the best time to reach him is during night time there, coz his CP is off most of the time during the day, due to his job. He works in one of a law offices in Ozamis City, 45 minutes drive from our hometown. He is a barrister, meaning he is a law graduate but never took his bar exam. Somehow he is still qualified to represent clients in the higher law courts with a qualified lawyer, and he works as an assistant lawyer. I can tell how he missed me, he keep asking when we gonna meet again as he is getting older. Hearing all those words from him, my heart bleeds, I missed my Pa so much too. While our conversation went on, he started complaining about my brod and my sis-in-law. It wasn't new to me, everytime I talk with my father on the phone, I can always hear a complain about the couple. I told him to just ignore them, besides you didn't live with them, I said. My Pa said they are too annoying, they rely on me so much, I told him that, Pa I never sent any money to them, I sent a little amount for the kids birthdays or during their school ceremony as a gift because I am proud of them being brainy. He kept saying that if it's not because of his grand children he doesn't want to visit my brod and sis-in-law. He got mad at my brother, because he doesn't want to work as a sea man. He is just too lazy and he used to it that I was supporting them when I was working abroad. Pa wants him to work to support his own family, but he is very lazy.....To stop my father from complaining about my brother, I told him to go back to sleep, I don't want him to think about my brother too much being mad, it's not good for him. We talked for like 20 minutes, and I promised to call him again soon. After I hang up with him, I dialled my brother's number, before he said something, I started nagging at him, about my Pa's complained. I didn't know who to believe, because my brod defending himself. I changed the subj. since he denied everything what Pa told me, instead I asked about my 2 nieces and nephew how was their school going? He said to me proudly that the 2 girls are still best in class, and they are having their school ceremony end of this month. While the boy is still average, but somehow he got a ribbon as well. He added that my elder niece won the journal essay writing in Cagayan de Oro, during their journal essay competition. Me as Aunt, I am so proud about it. Lastly I told my brother that habebe had sent some money for the kids. I was so happy that I finally got hold of my father, I think it's been more than a month that we didn't talk to each other. Being here in foreign land, I can't resist not to miss them, esp. my father who is now getting older. I wanted to fly back home at this moment, If I only have wings, I would surely fly back and forth.
