My shrimp vegetables fried w/ oyster sauce
I was very busy lately working on our small business, and didn't have time to cook. I missed my job in HK, since I used to cook everyday for my employer. So yesterday, I tried my best to cook even how busy I was. One of my friends gave me some vegetables last Saturday, they came straight from their garden. A yellow and a white squash, cucumbers and a big pumpkin. We split them into three with my 2 other friends. Good gracious that she gave us 3 white big squash or else the 3 of us have to fight for it. I was smiling when I opened the fridge and saw all these vegetables lying there, and I said to myself, hmmmp! all of you tasted really good once you were all cooked. So I grabbed them, I took a knife and a chopping board, and start slicing them one by one. After they were all washed I started cooking them. I couldn't hardly wait for them to be cooked. I decided to put some shrimps in it to add more taste. For less than an hour I already had my cooked vegetables ready on our dining table. You know what? it tasted yummy to me of course! (:
When habebe got home from work in the evening, I asked him what he wanted for dinner, he said he felt like eating Pizza. He asked me what I was going to have for dinner. I replied that I had some residual vegetables that I cooked for lunch. I almost threw a pizza in the oven when he asked me if he could try some of my veggies, and I said sure. I couldn't believe that after he tried it, he told me that he wants to eat my veggies w/ rice, instead of pizza. I am glad because I am trying to convince him to like veggies, because it is much healthier than the food that he normally eats. He is not a vegetarian type guy, but it was amazing that he liked my vegetables. We both had a good dinner and I got a nice comment from him. Thanks a lot to Zim and her parents for giving me those freshy vegetables. Plus they were free of charge.
